Sauna essentials

Our sauna hosts will welcome you with a friendly smile and give you instructions.
They are all first aid trained and are even savvy with a phone if you wanted a photo taken of you!

What to bring

Essential:

Water bottle

Swimwear

2 towels

Flip flops or similar

Optional:

Sauna hat

Bag

Dry robe / bath robe

CHANGING FACILITIES
There will be a changing room van near to FYRHÙS SAUNA location but it is a good idea to come in your swim wear to save this process and save time

Sauna etiquette

Shower or bathe before entering a sauna to help keep the sauna space clean

Wash feet in bucket provided to avoid taking debris into the sauna

Bring 2 towels, one to sit on inside the sauna, remembering to take it with you if changing bench positions

Respect time limits and follow recommended times to sauna (10/15 mins) followed by a few minutes cold immersion. Repeat pattern until time up

Swimming wear should be worn unless it is specifically a clothes free sauna

Sauna is a place of calm – be respectful of others when engaging in or starting up a conversation

To create steam (LOYLY) and raise the temperature, a ladle of water should be poured on the rocks very slowly. Apply little and often and ALWAYS ASK other bathers. Be POLITE and CONSIDERATE

NEVER use your own essential oils on the rocks. This could cause damage to the stove and bring unwelcome fumes

No phones or gadgets to be brought into the sauna space. a sauna is A SCREEN FREE space – enjoy the break

Make room for others and be mindful of not blocking the entrance/exit
